Knit a Market Bag: $25 - 1 Sessions

Wednesday 7/5/17 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM

You’ve seen them in movies and on TV. Now you can learn to knit your own market bag for the ultimate in recycling! Re-use time and time again for groceries and produce. These will make great gifts! Warren has rewritten the beginning of the pattern to make this bag easier to knit!!! Circular needle sizes 6 & 10, 32” or 40” and stitch marker needed. Magic Loop or 2 same size circular needles. Any yarn with silk, linen or hemp in the composition would make excellent materials to make this bag. Start making your Christmas gifts now!

Crocodile Stitch Crochet Class: $25 - 1 Session

Wednesday 7/12/17 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Learn the crocodile stitch, aka the dragon scale stitch. This intermediate stitch will give your projects a layered look and more texture. There are many patterns available that feature this popular stitch, so it’s a good one to learn. Since there are a few different ways to crochet the crocodile stitch, we will focus on one so that you can get a good understanding of this crochet stitch. For this class, you need to know how to chain, single crochet and double crochet. Bring a light color, worsted weight yarn, size I (5.5mm) and size J (6.0mm) hook.

Intro to Lace: $25 - 1 Session

Wednesday 7/19/17 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM

The Leaning Lace Pattern.Please join us to learn this new lace stitch pattern. It has an almost three dimensional effect to it. This pattern is a multiple of 6 stitches plus 1. You will learn to knit yarn overs and knit 2 stitches together. At the class we will design the width and length of your scarf. Material: lace or sock yarn, around 480 yards. Needles: US 4 or larger needles if you prefer to have a lace look.

Very Beginning Knitting Class: $50 - 2 Sessions

Wednesdays 7/26/17 and 8/2/17 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM

This 2-part class will cover the process of casting on, knitting, purling and casting off. You will create a scarf. You can choose the type and color of yarn you want to knit from our vast inventory and we will pair you up with the correct needles. A reference book on knitting is highly recommended and there are several to choose from in the shop. Come in prior to class to select yarn from among choices available.

Truffle Hat & Bon Bon Gloves: $50 - 2 Sessions

Wednesdays 8/9/17 and 8/23/17 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Come join in to make this adorable fashion-forward beanie called Truffle and the matching fingerless mittens. The lacy pattern winds up the hat giving a feeling of tiny cables. But it’s really a simple 5 stitch by 5 row pattern that’s easy to learn and remember. This beanie will surely be a hit with any high school or college aged girl on your gift list. Make one for yourself while you’re at it. A supply list to make the hat as shown will be available in the shop when you sign up. However, we will spend the first few minutes of the class picking out yarn for your project. Each student will also receive patterns for a matching cowl and fingerless gloves.

The Zick Zack Scarf: $25 - 1 Session

Wednesday 8/16/17 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Please join us to learn the Zick Zack scarf. It is a lot of fun and the effect is amazing so you'll love the result. During the session you will learn to knit 2 stitches together and to add a stitch. It is an easy pattern and it is a multiple of 12 stitches so we will create your own scarf. Materials: 2 skeins of yarn sock weight 400 yards each, may we suggest opposite colors for a striking result. Markers Needles size: US 3

Intro to Continental Knitting: $25 - 1 Session

Wednesday 8/30/17 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Learn how to knit holding the working yarn with your left hand. This is a great way for people who crochet to learn to knit! This technique greatly reduces the movement of the arms and reduces chances for repetitive stress injuries. Bring some scrap yarn and needles or buy a new project to try out this different way of knitting!
